Employability Support in Edinburgh Spaces still available – Making Work Work

15 October 2026 By EVOC Communications Team

Spaces are still available on the Making Work Work – for Edinburgh Women programme, starting at the end of October and again in January.

The programme supports women who have taken a career break and are looking to reconnect with their confidence, skills and experience, explore what they want next and move towards work that fits their lives.

Through twice-weekly peer-led sessions over eight weeks, participants benefit from:

  • A supportive community of women with a wealth of different skills and experience
  • Access to Smart Works Scotland for interview preparation, coaching and dressing support where eligible
  • Ongoing access to our Alumni Teams community
  • Support to explore next steps, whether that’s returning to employment, changing direction, developing an idea or simply figuring out what comes next

They know that taking that first step after a career break can feel daunting. That’s why their programmes are designed to be supportive, practical and confidence-building without expecting participants to have everything figured out before they start.
