Poverty and Suicide in Scotland: Panel and Workshop

29 October 2026 By EVOC Communications Team

Poverty and Suicide in Scotland: Where Are We Now and What Happens Next?
Wednesday 4 November – 10:00am–12:30pm
Quaker Meeting House, Edinburgh

The event will explore the links between poverty, suicide prevention, and public policy in Scotland, and consider what more can be done to address the social and economic conditions that contribute to distress. Following a panel discussion featuring Samaritans Scotland, the Poverty Alliance, the Star Project, and the delivery team for Scotland’s national suicide prevention policy, there will be a participatory workshop exploring how we might make life more liveable.

The event is free and open to anyone, and further details can be found here: https://festivalofsocialscience.com/events/poverty-and-suicide-in-scotland/
