Job Purpose
Are you a relationship-focused fundraising professional who wants to make a visible and lasting impact?
Positive Help has a dedicated team of seven making a profound difference to adults, families and children living with HIV and Hepatitis C across Edinburgh and Lothians. Through practical support, advocacy, social connection and community engagement, they help people live well and with dignity.
They are seeking a Fundraising and Engagement Lead to help strengthen their fundraising and community engagement activities and support the long-term sustainability of the organisation. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and colleagues across the organisation, the successful candidate will help identify new opportunities, secure funding, build relationships with supporters and partners, and raise awareness of Positive Help’s work across the communities it serves.
This is a varied role where no two weeks are the same. The successful candidate may spend one day developing trust funding applications, strengthening corporate partnerships, or analysing fundraising performance and future opportunities. On another, they could be supporting community fundraising initiatives, coordinating volunteers, developing campaign content, or representing Positive Help at local events and meetings.
They are looking for someone who brings creativity, initiative and sound judgement, enjoys building authentic relationships, and recognises that successful fundraising extends beyond achieving short-term income targets. The postholder will play an important role in generating income while also developing the partnerships, supporter networks and opportunities that will contribute to Positive Help’s long-term sustainability.
As part of a small organisation, the successful candidate’s contribution will have a visible impact. They have the opportunity to influence how we engage with supporters, communities and partners, while working collaboratively with colleagues to strengthen our impact and reach. This role would suit someone who is motivated by building meaningful relationships, creating opportunities, and helping a well-respected local charity thrive.
Those interested in an informal telephone discussion about the role with the Chief Executive Officer are encouraged to get in touch, and a mutually convenient time can be arranged.
Applicants should refer to the full Job Description, Application Form and EDI Monitoring Form for further information.
Positive Help looks forward to receiving applications. Please note that CVs will not be accepted.
