Thrive, a free monthly singing and music group, is starting on Friday 30 October 2026 and is for older people who may have Dementia, Parkinsons and restricted movement. The classes will be on the last Friday of every month from October 2026-October 2027 (except Dec 2026 and July 2027) and are being provided by Edinburgh Community Performing Arts (ECPA).
Each session will run from 10.15am – 12noon and will include social time with refreshments, and then the singing and music class will run from 10.45am, finishing at 12noon.
The class will be led by a professional music teacher who will provide group singing and rhythm/pattern-based activities, including occasions to play percussion instruments. The group will be supported by two volunteers.
No prior singing or music experience is necessary. This is an informal and relaxed class designed to help bring people together to connect and experience the joy of singing and music.
