EVOC provides administrative support to the Edinburgh Forum for Voluntary Sector Organisation’s Providing Services to People with Disabilities.
Membership of the Forum is open to all voluntary, community and non-profit organisations based or active within the City of Edinburgh area that provide or have an interest in the provision of services to children and adults with disabilities and/or their carers, particularly, but not exclusively health and social care services.
The Forum meets quarterly, and its purpose is to bring member organisations together:
- To provide for voluntary sector representation in Local Authority and Health strategic planning structures for disability services;
- To share and disseminate information on local and national policy developments, legislation, research, funding and practice development of relevance to disability services;
- Where appropriate and agreed by the membership, to present a collective voice on behalf of members and to provide members with the opportunity to influence jointly decision making on local and national policies and issues of relevance to the disability sector;
- To provide members with the opportunity to participate in consultations on issues of relevance to disability services.
