EVOC provides administrative support to the Edinburgh Forum for Voluntary Sector Organisation’s Providing Services to People with Disabilities.
Membership of the Forum is open to all voluntary, community and non-profit organisations based or active within the City of Edinburgh area that provide or have an interest in the provision of services to children and adults with disabilities and/or their carers, particularly, but not exclusively health and social care services.
The Forum meets quarterly, and its purpose is to bring member organisations together:
- To provide for voluntary sector representation in Local Authority and Health strategic planning structures for disability services;
- To share and disseminate information on local and national policy developments, legislation, research, funding and practice development of relevance to disability services;
- Where appropriate and agreed by the membership, to present a collective voice on behalf of members and to provide members with the opportunity to influence jointly decision-making on local and national policies and issues of relevance to the disability sector;
- To provide members with the opportunity to participate in consultations on issues of relevance to disability services.
