Care Experience Student Bursary

The Care Experienced Student Bursary is now available for college and university students. It pays £8100 per year to eligible students. How you apply and how often it is paid depends on whether you are at college or university. 

  • For all college courses except HNCs/HNDs, please see the FE Bursary FAQs.
  • For all university courses and HNC/HND study at college, please see our HE Bursary FAQs.

Further information, including a details of the definition of ‘care experience’ that SAAS use, is available on their website.

Self Management Fund: Resilience, Recovery and Development opens for applications on the 26th October

The Self Management Fund will open for applications on 26 October 2020. 

The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland is delighted to announce that the Self Management Fund: Resilience, Recovery and Development will open for applications on 26 October 2020. Administered on behalf of the Scottish Government, the Self Management Fund supports projects that increase the capacity of the people of Scotland to live well with long term conditions. This round of the fund will build on the Resilience, Recovery and Development demonstrated by the third sector throughout 2020 and create an opportunity to plan for the future.

We are offering the opportunity to apply for one of two grant types which are designed to:

  • Test or investigate an idea
  • Build on or develop existing work or knowledge
  • Establish a service that is new to your organisation.

Your application can be for a self management project that will:

  • Strengthen the resilience of the people you work with and your organisation.
  • Increase the opportunities for recovery in communities and the third sector.
  • Develop the services that you have identified are required for the future.
  • Contribute to the purpose of the Scottish Government’s Framework for supporting people through Recovery and Rehabilitation during and after the COVID-19 Pandemic (this link will take you away from our website).
  • Contribute to the resilience, recovery and development of people, communities and the third sector through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

Update notice: Food Fund ends on the 30th September 2020

Between April and September, EVOC worked in partnership with 30 third sector organisations and the City of Edinburgh Council to support vulnerable people to access food and other assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work built on the early responses from community organisations in the first weeks of the crisis. This funding comes to an end at the end of September 2020.

Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund re-opened

This phase of the fund is to re-establish or re-design activities of charities/community-based organisations to comply with new regulations in addition to providing emergency support for those who need it most.
