LiberArts: Art Psychotherapy

4 February 2022 By EVOC Communications Team

Anxiety management Art Psychotherapy information

Libertus services originally received funding through the Lottery Community Fund to run free Art Psychotherapy groups within the community at their building.  In response to the COVID 19 pandemic this group has now been switched to online working, and are now able to offer 1:1 online art psychotherapy sessions across the city. These are psychotherapeutic sessions facilitated by HCPC registered Art psychotherapists.

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of expression and communication. Within this context, art is not used as diagnostic tool but as a medium to address emotional issues which may be confusing and distressing.
Taken from the British Association of Art Therapists (30/03/2021)
