The community ticketing initiative (CTI) provides free Fringe tickets for people in and around Edinburgh who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend, with tickets generously donated by Fringe artists and companies.
Ticket recipients must live in Edinburgh or the Lothians and fall under one of the following categories:
- at risk, vulnerable, marginalised or isolated
- experiencing additional barriers to attending the festival.
The CTI is possible thanks to the generosity of the artists who donate tickets to their shows. These artists can often be smaller-scale, independent and community-minded – they’re eager to shore the joy of performance, even if this reduces their income from ticket sales. They are not paid or reimbursed to do so, but benefit by having a happy and supportive audience.
Book Tickets
There is a dedicated website where you can browse and book tickets for shows that are taking part in the CTI. The site is intended to be used by a responsible adult e.g. parent, carer, kinship carer, foster carer, social worker, community or youth worker or other professional.

Returning Tickets
We know plans can change so if you can no longer make it to a show, please call the Community Tickets Box Office on 0131 226 0027 and release the ticket(s) so that someone else has a chance to experience the magic. The more notice you can give, the better.
