Cyber Hygiene Review: Free Pilot Programme for Edinburgh’s Third Sector

23 March 2026 By EVOC Communications Team

Joshua Okolo, an MSc Cybersecurity graduate from Heriot-Watt University, is offering a free Cyber Hygiene Review to a small number of voluntary organisations and charities in Edinburgh as part of a limited pilot programme.

The review covers everyday security habits that many small organisations overlook, including password practices, phishing awareness, email security, data handling and basic backup checks. Each organisation receives a short written report with clear, practical recommendations tailored to their team — no technical jargon, no obligation.

Joshua has a background supporting secure IT operations within a regulated financial environment and holds an MSc in Cybersecurity from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.

This pilot is being offered at no cost to a small number of Edinburgh organisations in exchange for feedback. Availability is limited — organisations interested in taking part are encouraged to get in touch directly.
