City of Edinburgh Council has been advised of an indicative allocation of capital and revenue funding from South East Scotland Transport Partnership (SEStran) to deliver against local priorities to increase the uptake of active and sustainable travel.
The People and Place Plan objectives, along with the key requirements of funded activities, are outlined in this guidance document. Please read the document carefully before beginning your application.
The Council plans to allocate a portion of funds to support local organisations in their work to promote the uptake of active and sustainable travel in the community.
Please note that this grant opportunity is subject to confirmation of funding for the People and Place Plan from Transport Scotland and SEStran Board approval of the 2026-27 partnership budget.
There’s an opportunity to work with the Council to deliver:
• Hire and/or loan support to access adaptive bikes and/or mobility aids
These should include:
• targeted training and/or promotion of mobility-aid friendly routes via disability advocacy networks
• buddy events and/or drop-in sessions to improve confidence with travelling actively
Funding available:
• £40,000 revenue
• £35,000 capital
