Deaf Action is inviting people across Edinburgh to two free community events at its Albany Street home this week.
As part of International Week of Deaf People, Deaf Action will hold a community coffee morning at Blackwood Café & Bar on Thursday 24 September, from 10am to 12pm.
Everyone is welcome, whether deaf or hearing, BSL users or non-signers. Visitors can drop in at any point for free tea, coffee and biscuits, meet members of the deaf community and Deaf Action team, and find out more about the charity.
Deaf Action will also take part in Doors Open Days on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, from 12pm to 5pm.
Free guided tours, accessible in BSL and English, will run at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Visitors can explore Deaf Action’s historic Albany Street building and the Scottish Deaf Archives, discovering photographs, objects and stories from generations of deaf people in Edinburgh and across Scotland.
Both events are free and no booking is required.
