As previously reported PressReader (the downloadable newspaper and magazine service) lost its supply of Ukrainian language newspapers and magazines after the war broke out. With their original contacts no longer viable and many publications ceasing it has proven very difficult to provide any Ukrainian content.
They have managed to make the following magazines available this week:
- Burda Style (Ukraine)
- Marie Claire (Ukraine)
- Maze of crosswords UA
- Maze of crosswords RU
- Grandma’s compote UA
- Grandma’s compote RU
These all come from the same publisher (Burda Ukraine). Quality-wise, there are two good quality glossies (Burda Style & Marie Claire) and four puzzle-type pubs (two of each in both languages, Ukrainian and Russian).
PressReader are still in talks to get some other magazines, children’s content, a few newspapers and some feed-based content sources, but this will take a bit longer.
PressReader can be used through an app on a mobile device (phone or tablet) or on a computer.
