Resilience in the Social Care Worker (Online) 8 & 15 March 2023

Resilience in the Social Care Worker

This course sits across Trauma Skilled and Enhanced Practice levels. It is aimed at those with direct and frequent contact with people who have mild to severe mental health problems or who may be known to be survivors of any kind of trauma.

To support participant to
• explore and reflect on their ability to tolerate being exposed to the trauma narratives and the intense emotions of those affected by trauma
• support participants to recognise their own stress responses’ when working with other people’s emotions and/or distress
• know where and how their own experiences and values might be impacting on their ability to hear and pay attention to trauma narratives
• know and reflect on their own self-care needs and encourage the imbedding of sustainable self-care strategies.
• Explore and practice awareness and/or reflective practices to support effective provision of trauma work.

This online training is made up of two 2¼ hour sessions with a 15-minute break and it will be held on Wed 8 & 15 Mar 2023 from 1:30pm to 3:45pm each day.
