Tue 7 June 2022, 10am – 3pm
At Clan Childlaw, we are regularly asked to help young people who are having problems getting housing after they have left care. This lawyer-led training will provide attendees with a better understanding of young people’s housing rights and of what additional support is available through After Care.
The training will focus on case studies to provide you with the tools you need to assist children and young people who are getting ready to leave care or continuing care. We will cover the housing rights of care-experienced young people, and how the law can be used to make sure young people get the housing and the support they need. At the end of the training you will know how to make sure that children and young people have the right information about their housing rights and understand the process of getting housing.
This training is provided as part of Clan Child law’s work to end youth homelessness. It will be of interest to anyone working with care experienced children and young people, including housing advisers, social workers, carers, and advocacy & support workers.
This lawyer-led training session is £20 per person. The training will take place on Zoom and spaces are limited to allow for interaction and discussion.
