GCVS Dads Survey 2022

31 May 2022 By Craig Mundie

Can you help us build an authentic picture of how dads are feeling, right now, right here in Scotland?

Take part in GCVSDAD SURVEY 2022

Since the start of the pandemic we have been asking dads how life is changing for them and their families. The surveys conducted have provided real insight into some of the difficulties families have faced as well as some unexpected positives. For example last November our survey revealed:

  • Dads’ mental health has deteriorated significantly – Over a third of dads described their mental-health as bad or very bad an increase of 14% in 18 months.
  • Family-friendly workplaces make a huge difference to dads ability to balance work & family life – However 40% of dads rate balancing work & family life as challenging or very challenging.
  • Spending time with their children remains a priority for dads – 54% of dads are spending 10 or more hours a week playing with their kids or helping with schoolwork and 29% of those are spending 25 hours or more.

But a lot has happened since our last survey – how is the cost of living crisis affecting families in Scotland? Are dads able to spend the time they want with their children? How are dads feeling? better, worse, the same?
