The Money Guiders Scotland network is for anyone who talks to people about their money worries and wants to learn more about money guidance.
It runs frequent events, at least two a month, on different money guidance related topics and has an online community of over 250 people across the third, voluntary and public sectors in Scotland.
Over the last two years it has heard from speakers from a wide range of organisations throughout Scotland and the UK in over 50 events ranging from networking events and workshops to conferences and knowledge sharing sessions.
It has covered topics including welfare and benefits, energy bills, cash-first approaches, budgeting tools, debt, illegal money lending, affordable credit, pensions and taxation, to name a few, with several examples of money guidance in practice. There is a repository of slides, video recordings and summaries from these events in the online community on the Knowledge Hub.
And, from the wider Money Guiders programme, there are also tools for your personal skills and knowledge development in the form of a competency framework and a suite of online training courses. You can use these to self-assess your level of confidence and choose the modules that suit your needs. At the foundation level there is already a City and Guilds endorsed credential that you can achieve.
