‘Healthy Planet, Healthy People’: Catalyst Awards are designed to support community*-led research**. The awards are available to cover eligible costs arising from a defined research project. Funding will be provided to support new and existing research projects that promote the health of individuals through fostering healthy environments and communities, and enabling access to healthy foods.
The Williamson Trust and RSE are looking to award demonstrator pilot-scale projects led by community-based individuals or organisations, who would each receive an award amount of up to £5,000 to conduct a research project for up to 12 months. There is no minimum project length.
‘Healthy Planet, Healthy People’: Catalyst Awards can be held in any discipline; however, they must speak to one of three topics:
- Climate
- Nature
- Food
A follow-on award, the Healthy Planet, Healthy People: Change Award, is available to current and future holders of a Healthy Planet, Healthy People: Catalyst Award, providing two standout projects with major funding to grow and scale their work. One project will receive up to £75,000, and a second will be awarded up to £25,000. The deadline for the Change award is also on 1 December 2026.
