Can capital funds up to £5k be part of a larger application?
- Yes – you can apply for up to £5,000 of capital costs as part of an application which can total no more than £20,000. The capital costs must be directly related to the proposed activity which you plan to deliver.
- Any capital projects must be 100% fully funded – if the cost is more than 100% the ECMHWF contribution, then any match funding agreements must already be in place. The project site must have a clear lease for a minimum of 5 years with agreement from the owner.
- If it is part of a partnership bid, each organisation may apply for up to £5,000 for capital costs as long as each organisation received no more than £5,000 capital contribution.
Can we apply for a project in conjunction with another organisation?
- Yes, we would consider this a partnership project. Only one organisation should apply as the lead partner who will receive the grant payment.
- If you are successful, prior to grant payment there should be a memorandum of understanding in place between your organisations detailing the distribution of funding.
If no one from our organisation is able to attend the community commissioning event on Monday 19 February, will our application still be considered?
- Yes, your application will still be considered. However, the event on 19 February is an opportunity to contribute to the decision-making process and collaborate with others to help us identify projects which are a priority for funding through the CMHWF.
Will you be sharing expressions of interest with everyone at the event on 19 February?
- Yes – on Mon 19 Feb, we will split into groups based on locality and you will be given a small number of expressions of interest to discuss.
- If you are applying for a project which will be delivered in more than one locality in Edinburgh, you will be assigned to one of those, but your expression of interest will be part of the discussion in all localities you plan to deliver in.
Can we submit more than one application?

We have already been awarded a grant to continue our work in 2024-2025, can we apply for another project?

- If you would like to run a project, but don’t have a bank account, you can also consider working with a larger ‘host’ organisation who can hold the funds on your behalf. Again, please get in touch to discuss this with us.
Do we have to complete an application form after the Expression of Interest?
- You will only be required to complete more information, over and above the EOI, if you are offered funding.
