Each year, the City of Edinburgh Council must report regularly on how their services are performing to bodies like Audit Scotland. They gather information from across the services and prepares a quarterly ‘performance scorecard’.
The scorecard includes a wealth of information from qualifications gained by our school leavers through to the number of digital loans in their libraries. It paints a fascinating and rich picture about progress to achieving council priorities. Who knew for example that people made a whopping 810,000 digital downloads and streaming for their libraries between April and June 2023?
The Council has been working hard to re-shape the way they present the information to make it easier to digest and understand. And they want to know what people think – is it useful? Do you find the information easy to understand? Can you think of anything that would make it easier for the public to use and understand?
They are hoping that the new reporting style is also more useful to residents as they can use it to find the answers to questions that they would normally contact them or councillors about.
