Space, Time, and Reflective Conversations
In 2022 there was space given to the CYP network to discuss the impact of the pandemic on the leaders across the sector. During this meeting, several managers/CEO noted their interest in accessing peer clinical supervision. Alex Collop and Paula Swanston worked with Katherine Anderson to roll out a survey to the network, seeking info on what type of supervision they would find helpful. 14 managers/leaders completed the survey. We now have 4 managers accessing regular peer supervision on a 6 weekly basis. EVOC have asked us to give the network an update.
The group feel it is a safe space to reflect and learn. Safe spaces are important to allow us to hold our values, it is a space to think about how we want to be treated as managers/leaders.
We have created a space where we feel held, where we recognise that we are not alone, and we can feel empowered to take action within our own systems and organisations.
It is important to have someone with sector knowledge and experience to hold the group, it feels valuable having someone from the outside with a neutral lens helping us make sense of situations, issues, and the world of management in which we find challenging and compelling every day!
