Tracy Baird

I first started volunteering when I was about sixteen. I caught the bug back then and have been volunteering or working for the voluntary sector on and off ever since. Before coming to EVOC, I worked in Resilience with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. This was a great experience but the voluntary sector has always been my home and it is great to be back working with and for charities.

I have a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Glasgow. My love of the voluntary sector and working with communities then took me to Dundee to study for a post-graduate degree in Community Education. I enjoy music, hot chocolate, cake, whisky and long walks if any of these are promised at the end.

Previous to the fire service, I managed a youth nightclub and centre which reached out to local young people in Ayrshire. Volunteering has taken me into youth work, activity camps, hospital radio and even onto the streets on a Saturday night. It’s always an adventure.
