Esther Moodie
Job Title: Development Worker
Esther has worked as a New Scots Development Worker with EVOC since March 2026, supporting the inclusion, wellbeing and empowerment of New Scots communities across Edinburgh. Her role focuses on strengthening collaboration between community organisations, improving access to services, and amplifying the voices and experiences of New Scots in local decision making.
She brings strong experience from her previous roles, including her position as Policy Development Officer at Feniks, where she advocated for the rights and wellbeing of Central and Eastern European communities across Scotland. In that role, she worked to raise awareness among stakeholders, support participation in civic and political life, and use research and lived experience to influence local and national policy.
Esther has also supported communities in North Edinburgh and served as an Equalities Officer with the Church of Scotland. She has spent several years working closely with New Scots, including helping churches respond to the arrival of Ukrainian refugees and coordinating multi faith advocacy and integration efforts as programme coordinator for Scottish Faiths Action for Refugees, a role she continues part time.
