DONA MILNE: Director of Public Health and Health Policy (NHS Lothian)
Prior to joining Lothian as Director of Public Health and Health Policy, Dona was Director of Public Health in Fife, following a six year period as Deputy Director in Lothian. She has worked in children and young people’s health and education within local authorities, the voluntary sector, Scottish Government and the NHS.
Dona is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and Honorary Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. Her career has taken her to YWCA Scotland as Depute Director (Scotland) and for 7 years she led the ‘Healthy Respect’ National Demonstration Project. In 2008, Dona was seconded to Scottish Government and led the H1N1 vaccination campaign following a period in sexual health and HIV policy. She has worked as a Consultant in Public Health since 2010. Her main interests are reducing inequalities, particularly through work on social determinants, reducing poverty and increasing life chances. She is independent chair of the Scottish Youth Work Research Group. In a voluntary capacity, she is a Trustee with Youth Scotland and Inspiring Scotland.
DAISY NARAYANAN: Senior Manager – Placemaking and Mobility (City of Edinburgh Council)
Daisy Narayanan is the Senior Manager – Placemaking and Mobility at the City of Edinburgh Council where she leads on delivering a city-wide integrated approach to transport and placemaking.
Daisy is on the Board of Architecture & Design Scotland and a member of the Evidence Group for Scotland’s Climate Assembly. She was on the Active Travel Task Force set up by the Minister for Transport and the Islands and is a member of the Scottish Transport Awards judging panel. Drawing on her previous experience working as an architect and urban designer in India, Singapore, England and Scotland, Daisy believes passionately in the importance of creating places for people: places that reflect and complement the communities that live in them.
A music aficionado, a bookworm and a linguist, Daisy spends her time enjoying the Scottish outdoors with her husband and two children.
PAUL WILSON: Chief Executive (Volunteer Edinburgh)
Paul Wilson is the Chief Officer of Volunteer Edinburgh, where he leads a talented team with a shared mission to empower more people to participate and enrich their lives and the lives of others through volunteering.
Paul has a strong commitment to promoting the benefits of active citizenship and volunteering, for individuals, volunteer involving organisations and wider society.
Paul has worked at Volunteer Edinburgh for over 20 years and is active strategically in volunteering at both local and national level. Personally, Paul has volunteered most of his adult life and is currently a trustee for a local equalities organisation and a local grant giving trust as well as being involved in a national classic car club.
