Job Title: Senior Development Officer (Older People’s Health and Wellbeing)
Phone Number: 0131 555 9100
I have a long experience of working with at risk populations: young people at risk of homelessness, young people with HIV, people with substance misuse issues and older people – in order to provide timely and effective health promotion information and tools.
I have also worked as an IT consultant, delivering a variety of projects across a wide range of businesses and for voluntary organisations.
I have two main areas of work. The first of these is to develop three Local Opportunities for Older People (LOOP) networks for the North West, South West and South East quadrants of the city to complement an existing network created by Pilmeny Development Project.
By working in partnership with a variety of voluntary organisations, community based services, City of Edinburgh Council and NHS Lothian the LOOPs will support improved referral networks and provide conduits for information dissemination.
My second responsibility is the delivery EVOC’s ‘Cascading the Learning’ outcome from our Reshaping Care for Older People – The Change Fund work stream. This work has funded 20 local preventative organisations to deliver a series of innovative programmes for older people: my role will be to identify and collate information and then to implement an information dissemination programme to ensure that this learning is most effectively delivered to the community.
