Ella Simpson

I joined EVOC in September 2009 bringing experience of working with adults and children who have additional support needs, community development, social policy development and, importantly, partnership working. I am absolutely committed to finding sustainable solutions for people and shaping systems to enable this to happen. The work we do at EVOC is all about working together and that has always been my ethos – the net result is I find the work at EVOC exciting, challenging and never ending.
As well as working in the Third Sector I have a long history of volunteering. I have been a Trustee for a number of voluntary organisations – grant making and addressing discrimination – always with the core theme of supporting social justice. My current commitments include Director, STAND International working with Scottish people who are marginalised and from disadvantaged communities to volunteer abroad.
As Chief Executive at EVOC I believe my job is about making connections, showcasing best practice and working together honestly with all sectors to improve the lives of everyone living in Edinburgh.
