Inviting Edinburgh’s Third Sector to help shape the Integrated Joint Board’s Strategic Plan
Adult Health and Social Care integration is moving forward across Scotland, and here in Edinburgh the next stage of development is just starting. A shadow Strategic Planning Group has now met, bringing together people from across the NHS, Health & Social Care, the Third Sector and Independent Sector. During the spring, we wanted to feedback to everyone in the Third Sector interested in shaping the future of health and social care services on how the Strategic Plan has been developed, update people on integration itself and invite people to share their aspirations and thoughts on what we could feed into the planning process. Details of the four meetings are below:
Feedback, Engage and Create – 1st April 2015
The first meeting was held on 1 April 2015, with over 25 organisations participating during the morning. Wendy Dale, Strategic Commissioning Manager from City of Edinburgh Council took people through the following set of slides, with an update on Integration in Edinburgh and introducing the Strategic Planning Group and its work:
Participants were invited to undertake an exercise to start the process of feeding-in information to the process, by considering the strengths, weaknesses, aspirations and threats of health and social care integration in the city:
This information will now be fed back to the next meeting of the Strategic Planning Group (SPG) in late April 2015.
Feedback, Engage and Create – 27 April 2015
This meeting’s focus was on the draft Joint Strategic Needs Assessment:
This report represents the first part of the process of producing a needs assessment – the second part being the phase we are now moving into, where the Partnership invite input from a wide range of stakeholders to provide information and experience on what the data hasn’t shown but is the known situation in the city. The 27 April meeting focused on discussing this input and shaping the final document.
Feedback, Engage and Create – 22 May 2015
Feedback, Engage and Create – 8 June 2015
The meeting will focus on the needs/issues for Third Sector organisations that provide health and social care services. We want to explore:
- How can providers best contribute to the development of the strategic plan?
- Scoping the issues
- How do we get the issues addressed?
