UK Community Day wants to cement the feeling of togetherness that has shone so brightly throughout the COVD-19 pandemic by making it a tradition to celebrate on the 23 March every year.
The pandemic was a difficult experience for everyone, but there was a silver lining in the darkness – so many people volunteered to support each other in these difficult times. Neighbours helped neighbours; bankers, teachers and unemployed people cooked food for NHS workers; ordinary people did extraordinary things, donated their time, their efforts and their money.
NOMINATE YOUR COMMUNITY HERO
We all know people who helped the vulnerable during the pandemic and others who have been doing a lot for their community over the years – picking up litter on their local beach, fundraising for a charity or feeding the homeless. If you would like to nominate someone, complete the UK Community Day Nomination Form (be ready to upload a photo).
MAKE A PLEDGE
You can also make a pledge as an individual or an organisation and join people and companies across the UK who are planning to celebrate UK Community Day on 23 March.
