The UK Government’s Equalities Office currently has an open Consultation on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace.
The consultation is gathering views and evidence on whether the current laws protecting people from sexual harassment in the workplace are effective.
This consultation seeks to address any gaps and see if more can be done at a practical level to ensure people are properly protected at work. There are several particular issues that this consultation seeks to address, one of these is whether Equality Act protections should include volunteers and interns.
Who does this consultation apply to?
As this consultation is seeking views on extending protections to Volunteers, organisations working with volunteers and/or interns may wish to respond.
Deadline for submissions
2 October 2019
