The IGA (Institute of Group Analysis) is concerned about the effects of Austerity and Covid 19 on the mental health of young adults and have organised an online workshop to look at ways of addressing this issue through the medium of group work:
Sat 17 Apr, 9.45am – 4.30pm I IGA Students £30, IGA Members £50, Public £60
They are particularly keen to offer the opportunity to think about this approach to practitioners who are directly involved with young adults either practically or strategically.
Group analysis is an approach to group work which promotes the autonomy of the group and its members and helps the practitioner to think about what is going on in the group dynamics. The approach is used in mental health services in the NHS and has a range of applications that could be very useful to organisations in the voluntary sector. The IGA’s aim is to introduce a wider public to what the approach has to offer as a support system.
