Scottish Mental Health First Aid
2 day course – Tuesdays 5th & 12th February 2019 (9.30-4.30pm each day)
Mental Health First Aid is an initial response to distress and is the help given to a person before appropriate professional help or treatment can be obtained. The course does not train people to be mental health workers, but offers general information about mental health difficulties. The knowledge presented and understanding developed in the course, helps to remove stigma and fear and to give confidence in approaching a person in distress.

ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
Thursdays 28 Feb and Friday 1st March 2019 (9-5pm each day).
This is a nationally recognised course designed to help people learn how to recognise the signs of suicidal thoughts and how to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

Trauma Skilled Practice
Wednesday 3rd April 2019 (9:30-4.30pm).

Trauma Enhanced Practice
Thursday 9th & Thursday 30th May 2019
This is a two-day course for those who have a specific remit to respond to the needs of survivors of trauma– on a regular or intense basis. This is a practice based course, so participants who have been working in this or a similar field for over 18 months will get the most out of it. Participants will learn how to continually build trust and develop recovery focused relationships with people affected by trauma and have a greater understanding of the effects of trauma and the experience of the survivor. They will have reflected on their practice and gained understanding of different ways of working
