South West Locality Leadership Group

The Locality Leadership Group for the South West is made up of leaders from the Public Sector and Education Sector and there are 2 representatives from the Third Sector attending, Denise Horn from EVOC and the Chair from the South West and Pentlands Voluntary Sector Forum. Bridie Ashrowan from the Broomhouse Centre.

PLEASE NOTE –influencing the locality leadership meetings can be done via the quarterly local Voluntary Sector Forums.

South West Working Groups Updates

All actions plans will go to the Locality Committees (CEC) by the 24th April 2018.

Place

The Place action plan is currently being developed by Mike Avery CEC.

Health & Wellbeing

A SW wide event was held in March to look at the priorities for the Health and Wellbeing in the SW. This event focussed on raising awareness of the Third Sector and the Public Sector practitioners at work in the locality. Summary of the discussions and presentations from the event can be accessed here. Based on work from this event the Health and Well being action plan is currently being developed by Patrick Jackson NHS.

Children & Families

A series of Knowing Me, Knowing You events have been run in the SW in recent months, focusing on understanding the current provision from all sectors in the SW that is available. Notes from these sessions can be found here. The next of these sessions is on the 25th April 2018. Based on work from this event the Children and Families action plan is currently being developed by Donna Anderson Public Health.

From these sessions there has been an agreement to take forward the children and young people’s mental health work, so if you are interested in joining a short life group (starting March/April 2018) to get this work moving please contact Jacqueline.Kirkland@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk who has agreed to pull a group together for this.. The group will feed into the South West Children’s Services Management Group.

Community Safety

The Community Safety action plan is currently being developed by Alan Carson Police Scotland.

Employability

Events have been held in the SW to look at Employability services in the SW. Based on work from this event the Employability action plan is currently being developed by Susan Donkin CEC.
