As of July 2016, the regulation of fundraising in Scotland has changed.
All charities that carry out any fundraising activities should be familiar with the Fundraising Code of Practice and it is the responsibility of trustees to ensure that their charity is adhering to the standards outlined in it. OSCR will be producing guidance for trustees specifically relating to fundraising to complement their general trustee guidance, found here: https://www.oscr.org.uk/charities/managing-your-charity/trustee-duties
Members of the public who have a complaint about a charities fundraising practices can follow the steps detailed here: https://fundraisingcomplaints.scot/make-a-complaint-scotland
Charities should ensure that they are familiar with the process above and able to deal with any complaints they might receive effectively.
