This full day course will unpack the framework for charity accounting in Scotland, with a focus on the year-end financial statements for submission to OSCR. It will cover both receipts and payments accounts and accruals accounts (prepared under the Charities SORP) including mention of the latest SORP changes, the trustees’ report that must be produced alongside the accounts, and the additional requirements for company charities. The seminar will also explore the role of charity independent examiners and auditors, and the duties of trustees in relation to the accounts.
Participants need to have some experience of financial procedures in a charity but participants do not need to be accountants and no prior knowledge of the SORP is assumed.
This course is of interest for charity treasurers and other trustees, managers, financial administrators, bookkeepers and prospective independent examiners working in Scottish charities of any size.
