EVOT

EVOC administers a number of small Trusts. These are legacies from individuals who donated a sum of money for the benefit of voluntary agencies and individuals in need, where poverty and illness are main factors.

The Trust funds are restricted to beneficiaries in the City of Edinburgh and the Lothians.

They are managed by a body of Trustees known as Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Trust (EVOT) and appointed by the Board of EVOC.

Grants for voluntary organisations

The Trusts operate in the area of social welfare and assist voluntary organisations that:

• have gained charitable status

• report an annual turnover under £200,000.

You can download guidelines and an application form on the Apply for Grants page.

Grants for individuals

EVOT also make grants to individuals in need, but does not accept applications directly from members of the public.

Applications for individual grants must be submitted via a post holder in a Local Authority, hospital, or voluntary sector agency.

Among the grants available to individuals, EVOT administers the Ponton House Trust on behalf of Lindsays WS Solicitors, for young people in need in the City of Edinburgh, especially for those with a disability.

To obtain the forms for individual applications, see the Apply for Grants page.

Please contact Trust Administrator Janette Scappaticcio with any questions about EVOT or the application process.
