Scottish Directory of Funding for 3rd Sector Organisations 2011

This is a new and essential funding resource for charities, community groups, social enterprises and voluntary organisations of all shapes and sizes. It contains details of over 250 sources of funding, indexed by main subject area. With full, up-to-date contact details, the entries include details of what can and cannot be funded and allow readers to target their applications at the funders which are most relevant to their needs.

This guide explores some common fundraising misconceptions and sets out the practical steps required before you start fundraising. It looks at how to find funders and write effective proposals and includes practical exercises and detailed guidance on how to plan your fundraising activity.

You can keep up to date with the latest funding opportunities via our online Noticeboard. This is where you will find announcements of new grant streams and tendering opportunities.

You can also find further information on funding in our Signposts section. You will find links to funders as well as good sources of information to help you obtain funds.

Trustfunding.org.uk

EVOC holds a subscription to Trustfunding.org.uk which allows users to access this database of over 4,400 trusts which together distribute £3.6 billion in grants.

You can access Trustfunding.org.uk from our offices in Ashley Place. We will guide new users through the use of the program and assist with the search the directories if needed.

The searchable database allows you to focus on criteria such as:

• What type of organisation are you?
• What is the focus of your activity?
• Where is your project based?
• Who are the beneficiaries?
• What type of funding are you looking for?

It then points you to potential sources of funding, and information about how to contact these sources.

Funding Scotland‘s purpose is to improve the process of identifying and communicating funding information in Scotland.

They provide an online platform allowing organisations seeking funding (Fund Seekers), and organisations offering funding (Funders), to work together more efficiently.
