Once your group or organisation has invested time and finance in recruiting staff and putting in place employment related policies, it makes sense to maximise on the benefits by putting in place good people management to retain those employee(s).

To encourage the best from your staff, it is important that they have support and supervision. Performance Management comprises all the things you as employers can do to ensure that the employee is working effectively, and has all the support, training and development they need to perform in their role to the best of their ability.

Performance Management includes holding regular staff meetings, carrying out effective staff appraisals and having a commitment to listening and responding to the training and personal development needs of your staff.

Employees have the right to request time to train. Employees’ requests can be to undertake accredited or unaccredited training to help develop specific skills relevant to their job, workplace or business.  As an employer, you will be required to consider any requests and respond within a set timeframe.
