People Management
The people involved in your community group and project will always be your greatest asset. Beyond your members, there will be:-
- the people that use your services – your customers, clients or users
- volunteers who fundraise or deliver activities and services
- you may employ paid staff or contract workers
- individuals within your community who may support your cause or pay donations
- representatives from funding organisations
- representatives from other agencies such as local authorities or social enterprise partnerships
All of these people are important to your group. How you treat them will be reflected in how much they continue to be involved with your group.
This section looks at encouraging and supporting people, treating them fairly and with respect, involving them and listening to them. This includes legal duties and best practice (where applicable).
