Children and Young People

The Edinburgh Network of Voluntary Organisations for Children, Young People and Families is referred to by its members as ‘the Network.’

The Network aims to improve the effectiveness and maximise the contribution of Edinburgh’s voluntary sector to the planning and delivery of services and activities for children, young people and their families. The Network is the membership grouping for any voluntary, community and non-profit making organisations working in Edinburgh and wishing to promote the aims of the Network.

Voluntary organisations in the city can also participate, free of charge, in training with our statutory sector partners through events delivered by:

  • City of Edinburgh Council Children and Families’ Workforce Learning and Development programme – more information available here.
  • NHS Lothian Health Promotion Service offers courses that develop the core skills needed for health promotion, and builds on the life stage approach introduced during 2010.  The life stages that feature this year are early years, children and young people and adults:  Download the 2011/12 brochure.
