Change Fund

The Change Fund, Reshaping Care for Older Peoples services is an exciting and innovative public, voluntary and private sector partnership funded by the Scottish government. It aims to bring about lasting changes in the ways we care for older people in communities rather than institutions.  This presents a unique opportunity to work together across services and sectors, and to identify the most effective ways to achieve outcomes that will make real change to the way that people grow old in Scotland.

Within the agreed framework for the Change Fund in Edinburgh, the voluntary sector is leading on the Community Capacity Building and Coproduction Workstream. Its purpose is to build the capacity of communities to deliver services aimed at keeping older people safe and well in their own homes.

Research conducted by EVOC into the support needs of older people in Edinburgh has led to an agreement of the areas of investment.  EVOC will be responsible for administering the Change Fund Innovation Fund Programme with a focus on:

  • transferring learning from working with other client groups;
  • increasing and rolling out best practice;
  • and building capacity within organisations to recruit, train and retain volunteers.
