The Open Door in Morningside has been supporting older people, people with mental health issues and other vulnerable people in our community for 35 years. We do this through our café, volunteer placements, day services for older people and our social groups in art and poetry. Our premises are used by many other groups, charities and faiths. Inclusion is our byword.
The Open Door aims to reduce isolation and loneliness by providing love, support, inclusion and a sense of community. Join us in our special 35 years in service.
We are currently seeking a treasurer to support us with yearly financial decisions. The Open Door would be seeking support with the financial management of the charity, including setting the budget, monitoring monthly performance against this and interpreting the accounts for the rest of the Board.
A suitable candidate would have a background in finance or book keeping.
The basic time commitment is 12 monthly meetings for around 2 hours duration, plus checking the monthly financial results and additional time for preparation of the budget and liaising with the charity’s Accountants to prepare the annual accounts.
The position is on a voluntary basis but we often see many volunteers gain a lot from the support that they give the charity
