MYDG seeking Link Up Development Worker
Muirhouse Youth Development Group (MYDG) in Partnership with Inspiring Scotland is seeking to employ a talented facilitator to develop, implement and run its Link Up Programme based in Muirhouse, North Edinburgh.
Salary – SJC AP4 pts 27-30 (Full Time)
MYDG is an outwardly facing group rooted in the community of Muirhouse and its adjacent areas. MYDG does not have its own centre: we work hard to ensure a presence in the community. Our programme combines outreach youth work with resources already existing in the community. Link Up is an innovative three year programme that is exploring a new approach to improving the resilience of communities in Scotland. The programme focuses on the existing skills, knowledge and interests of individuals in the local community, and uses these ‘assets’ to create opportunities for people to help each other in groups or ‘links’.
This asset-based approach aims to build new, and strengthen existing, social connections in the community and at the same time, develop the confidence and capacity of the people involved.
Applications can be obtained from our website: http://www.mydg.org.uk/vacancies.html
Closing date for applications: Friday 2nd March 2012: 5pm. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Thursday 8th March.
