Growing Confidence programme

There are still a few places for staff to train up to deliver the Growing Confidence programme “Raising Children With Confidence” to parents and carers. In the last 3 years, over 500 parents/carers across Edinburgh have already benefited from this course which aims to support the promotion of positive mental health and emotional well-being in themselves and their children. It covers topics such as brain development, attachment, resilience, empathy etc…. and has been delivered within Nursery and Primary schools, Children and Family centres and Voluntary and Community settings. We are seeking motivated and committed professionals who already have experience working with parents/carers who may be looking for new opportunities in this area.

This CPD opportunity is open to all staff who have completed the Confident Staff, Confident Children course and who would now like to become involved in delivering the course (Raising Children With Confidence) to parents and carers. The next 3 day Train the Trainer course will be held on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th February 2012 (with 3rd date on Monday 14th May). The cost of the training course (normally £250) will be met by the Big Lottery Fund (as part of the Growing Confidence project) for those candidates who are selected to attend.

There are limited places available so if you or a member of your colleagues would like to be involved the first step in the process is for you to complete and return the attached note of interest with endorsement from your line manager.
