Edinburgh Palette is a registered charity that creates and manages affordable spaces for artists, charities and local groups. Since 2008, we’ve been combining effective property management with the energy and imagination of an artistic hub to help all kinds of creative people develop ideas, share skills and contribute to the wider community.
We are looking for an experienced professional to chair our Board of Trustees and provide the vision and direction to lead Edinburgh Palette through the next exciting phase of our development.
Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, the new Chair will help develop and review strategic plans, support staff and trustees, and promote Edinburgh Palette among key stakeholders.
Naturally, strategic vision and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with a deep understanding of the creative community. The successful candidate will also understand and promote the legal duties and responsibilities of the Board and adhere to Nolan’s 7 principles of public life.
The Board meets at least six times each year, and the Chair will also be expected to play a full and active role in supporting Edinburgh Palette’s ongoing objectives – as well as representing the charity at public events, and providing oversight on matters of strategy, governance, finance, HR and risk.
