The Scottish Child Law Centre is holding two Masterclasses in June 2017, both will be held in central Edinburgh.
On 15th June 2017, 13:30 to 16.30, we will be holding a Masterclass on ‘Getting Sibling Contact Right’.
Separation from siblings is unfortunately a common experience for children in care. This Masterclass will focus on an application to practice for anyone involved in making decisions about and caring for children and their siblings. The speakers are Dr Gillian Henderson, SCRA, Simone Gillespie and Malcolm Christie, Aberlour.
On 21st June 2017, 13.00 to 16.30, we will be holding a Masterclass on ‘Child-Centred Legal Practice in the Children’s Hearings System’.
The Chair and Keynote speaker is Bruce Adamson, Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland. The additional speakers are Colm Clark and Louise Lowrie, Children and Families, North West Health and Social Care partnership and Lucy Milliard, Millard Law. It will explore the issues and concerns raised about the Children’s Hearings system and the ways in which the existing code of practice might be strengthened.
