Freedom of Information and Data Protection Day
This is the first of two separate training events running across a single day, designed to give voluntary organisations an understanding of their rights and responsibilities under these two important pieces of legislation.
Whether it’s understanding your organisations obligations under data protection, or exploring the opportunities that freedom of information can provide in accessing important information from others, these events should have some important learning for everyone. Delegates are free to attend one, or both events.
Data Protection session
This session seeks to dispel the myths that surround data protection. We’ll look at the basic concepts of data protection, as well as some of the key steps you and your organisation can take to comply with the obligations set out in legislation.
This will also be an opportunity for you to find out more about the new General Data Protection Regulation, due to come into force in May 2018. An informal session, questions will be most welcome, as will sharing and learning from other delegates’ experiences.
